How to convert a Map from Open street map to a graphical data to make it more interactive to the Client or Viewer.

SITE ANALYSIS –OPEN STREET MAP & ILLUSTRATOR -1

Open the Map downloaded using Adobe illustrator.

Ungroup the selection

All the text, lines are in a single layer and it should be separated.

Select a Text - Select - Same - Appearance

All the text will be selected.

Cut the Text.

Create a new layer as Text and paste using Edit - paste in place.

Text layer is created separately and it is hidden.

Similarly it done for Road, Buildings, River channel.

 Masking - Is used in order to crop only the site extent.

For  Masking

1. Create a circle on top of the other layers

Press Shift and draw a circle using Ellipse tool

Select all, Under Object- Clipping Mask - Make

It will clip and show the layers only with in the circle.
